About Hola Havanese
HI, I'm Debbie Beasley. The founder of Hola Havanese. I have a wonderful husband and two grown children and now I have twin grandsons whom I visit as often as I can. They are sooo handsome! I am retired from teaching and now my husband and I enjoy our furry little havanese.
Before the Havanese I had two Corgis and a Jack Russel and my husband had German Shepherds. When our dogs passed we realized we needed a smaller breed, but one with "fun" built into it. I did my research and was enamored with the history of the Havanese. Their temperament and charm seemed to be perfect for our family and after meeting my first one, it was all over. My heart melted and that was the breed for me. They are everything and more than the articles and descriptions say about them, satisfying everything I wanted in a dog. They always bring a smile to your face and your heart. I now show my Havanese at local and national AKC conformation dog shows and have been doing very well. I took my first girl to International Championship (IABCA) and then with the help of some friends (thank you Jennifer Manders, my mentor and friend) went on to show AKC and have been able to take two of my girls to the title of AKC Grand Championship and Championship of my boy. I continue to show my dogs and put titles on them and love to know that I have excellent quality so that I can provide families with the very best. I also want to thank other handlers that have helped me along the way that have been a big help by either their teachings or stepping up to show my dogs when I was unable to do so.
I have very strong feelings on breeding to better the breed and do extensive health testing to make sure all of the dogs are healthy and structurally sound. I check knees, heart, hearing, eyes and hips. If you're considering a dog from any breeder, ask if they do OFA health testing. If the breeder says they do not, do not buy from them. Also make sure it is the OFA Testing. You can check the OFA websites to see results. I go to seminars and classes for continuous learning on care, breeding and training of our dogs. These dogs are our pride and joy and live with us in our home as pets where we whelp and raise our puppies in a loving home environment. By interacting with them constantly they get used to a home environment as well as exposes them to as much as possible, to situations, sounds and people to fit into a new home life.
We only have a few litters each year and make sure each dog is healthy, health tested and meets or exceeds the standard, Our goal is to better the breed so we make sure we breed only healthy, happy dogs. My dogs mean the world to me and when we sell puppies, we are happy to know that those who buy them feel the same way. Our buyers are always sending pictures and cards showing how much they love their Hola Havanese and knowing that they are very much loved, makes us very happy. We no longer sell dogs to show homes and only to pet homes.
Our puppies are socialized as best we can with the new environment we are living in now with Covid. We take them for rides in a car and truck and have visited some stores. We do have friends that visit that are Covid free or vaccinated. Most have been around our friends children when possible.
Right now our male is one of our own puppies that is a son of Grand Champion Danza Con Rosas (Retired) and Champion Mambo Dancer Maverick Vom Salzetal (Retired) and named Champion Hola's Little Dude. He his a perfect combo of his mother and dad.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
